Kulgam: Police arrests man for ‘sexually assaulting’ non-local minor girl
Police has arrested the accused Mohd Iqbal Mansoori of Bihar
Kulgam: Police in Kulgam arrested a person allegedly involved in sexually assaulting a non-local minor girl.
As per the police, Police Station Kulgam received a complaint for assistance from complainant (name withheld to protect the identity of the victim) stating that their daughter (name withheld) had been assaulted sexually by a person namely Mohd Iqbal Mansoori S/O Mohd Ekram Mansoori R/O Dumrama Bakha of Bihar.
Accordingly a case FIR No. 192/2020 U/S 376, 452, 4 POCSO Act was registered in Police Station Kulgam and special team headed by SHO Kulgam Insp Davinder Singh under the close supervision of DYSP HQR Kulgam shri Ghulam Mohd Bhat-JKPS was constituted to nab the culprit.
“Acting swiftly on the gathered intelligence, officers were able to apprehend the culprit when he was planning to leave the valley within three hours after complaint was received,” the police said.
Further investigation of the case is underway.
