Season’s first snowfall at Peer Ki Gali disrupts traffic on Mughal road

Srinagar: Traffic movement on the Mughal Road connecting Kashmir with Poonch via southern Shopian district, was suspended after the thoroughfare witnessed season’s first snowfall at Peer Ki Gali on Sunday.

Officials said that following fresh snowfall at Peer Ki Gali, authorities suspended the traffic movement on the thoroughfare.

In north Kashmir’s Baramulla, ski resort Gulmarg also received fresh snowfall.

Meanwhile, Matayan, Minimarg, Zero Point, Gumri and Drass area of Ladakh also received season’s first snowfall last night.

Earlier, the Meteorological department of JK had forecast light snowfall in the upper reaches of Kashmir; however, it said that weather would remain dry for the next two weeks in the Kashmir valley.
