Hours after NIA granted bail to Waheed Parra, CIK detains him in Jammu: Mehbooba Mufti
Srinagar: The former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) chief, Mehbooba Mufti on Saturday stated that her party’s youth president Waheed Parra after granted bail was detained by CIK Jammu.
Despite NIA Court granting bail to @parawahid after thorough court proceedings, he has now been detained by CIK in Jammu. Under what law & for what crime has he been arrested? This is brazen contempt of court. Request @manojsinha_ ji to intervene so that justice is served.

Earlier in the day, Para was granted bail by the National Investigation Agency Court. The president of the PDP’s youth wing was summoned by the NIA a day after he had filed the nomination for the District Development Council (DDC) from his home constituency in south Kashmir’s Pulwama.
Later, he was questioned and booked for his alleged “close links” with an accused, Irfan Shafi Mir, who was arrested along with Hizbul Mujahideen militant Naveed Babu and suspended Deputy Superintendent of Police Davinder Singh earlier this year.
On December 20, 2020, he was sent to a 30-day judicial remand by a special judge of the NIA. after he was arrested last month and since questioned by the agency in a militancy-related case.
On 30 December 2020, a team of Counter Intelligence Kashmir (CIK), a wing of Jammu and Kashmir police, carried out a raid at his home in south Kashmir.
Pertinently, Para had won the DDC polls with a significant margin. However, he wasn’t allowed to take the oath.
