Students, staff to get vaccinated as per national policy: JK Admin

Srinagar: Amid rumours of closing the schools in Kashmir in view of rise in COVID cases, the Jammu and Kashmir administration on Monday clarified that there was no such plan or proposal and that the educational institutions were functioning smoothly across the region.

Officials from the administration announced that COVID vaccination doses among the students and staff will be given as per the national policy.

Top officials of the School Education Department Kashmir News Observer that the schools are functioning normally and all precautions and recommended Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) were being followed properly.

The official further said: “The schools reopened after a long time and it is a good opportunity for students to compensate the losses. However, some vested elements are trying to create confusion among the parents by hatching false rumours.”

Meanwhile, the advisor to the lieutenant governor, Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar told the news agency that the vaccination doses among the students and staff will be given as per the national policy.

“We are following the national policy for deciding as to when the students and staff in Jammu and Kashmir will be given COVID vaccination doses,” he said.
