Sartaj Madni released after 6-month-long detention

Srinagar: Senior Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) leader Sartaj Madni, who is also the uncle of former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti was on Saturday released from six-month-long detention.

Madni was detained on December 20, last year, and was lodged at Bijbehara police station for four days and was shifted to MLA hostel on December 24, 2020.

Officials said that he has been released today after six-month-long detention. Pertinently, Madni was released hours after Mehbooba told reporters that she has been invited by New Delhi for the talks over Jammu and Kashmir.
