Unidentified militant killed in ongoing military operation in Shopian, says police
Shopian: An unidentified militant has been killed in an ongoing military operation in Shirmal village of Shopian in south Kashmir.
Officials said that an unidentified militant has been killed and the operation is in progress. “The identity and affiliation of the slain militant is yet to be ascertained,” said an official.

The operation began after a joint team of Police, Army, and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Shirmal village following the inputs about the presence of militants in the area.
As the joint team of armed forces approached the suspected spot, the hiding militants fired upon them, triggering the operation.
The operation is underway and more militants are believed to be trapped in it, the official added.
