Missiles can be put into action if Islamabad fails to eliminate attackers: China state-affiliated media on Pakistan blast
Days after nine Chinese workers were killed in a bomb blast on a bus in Pakistan, the Global Times editor-in-chief on Friday warned Islamabad that if it is not able to eliminate those responsible for the attack, Chinese missiles and forces can be put into action to accomplish the task.
Global Times is a state-affiliated media based in Beijing.

“The cowardly terrorists behind this attack dare not show up until now. But they will definitely be found out and must be exterminated. If Pakistan’s capability is not enough, with its consent, China’s missiles and special forces can be put into action,” the Global Times editor-in-chief said.
The strong comments come after Beijing claimed that a bomb attack on a bus in northwestern Pakistan killed its 13 workers, but Islamabad said the explosion occurred due to a gas leak.
The blast happened when the bus was carrying around 40 Chinese engineers, surveyors and mechanical staff to a hydropower dam construction site in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.
“The bus plunged into a ravine after a mechanical failure, resulting in leakage of gas that caused a blast,” Pakistan’s foreign ministry had said in a statement.
China’s foreign ministry spokesman Zhao Lijian has asked Pakistan to take stringent action against those responsible.
Lijian asked Islamabad to “severely punish” and “earnestly protect” Chinese nationals and projects going on in Pakistan.
