Rahul Gandhi to visit Kashmir next week, likely to meet party workers

New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is scheduled to visit Jammu and Kashmir on August 9, reports said. The Congress leader is likely to meet party workers of the erstwhile state in Srinagar.

This is the Congress leader’s first visit to Jammu and Kashmir since the abrogation of the special status under Article 370 on August 5, 2019.

On August 3, the reports added that during the breakfast meeting with opposition leaders in Constitution Club, Rahul Gandhi had informally told some of the attendees that he will pay a visit to JK soon.

Congress, NCP, Shiv Sena, RJD, Samajwadi Party, CPI(M), CPI, IUML, RSP, JMM, NC, TMC, LJD, and Kerala Congress (M) had attended the meeting.

The meeting was called by the Congress leader to discuss the Pegasus spyware and other issues. It was reported that the Congress MP will meet several Congress leaders and is likely to stay in Jammu and Kashmir for two days.
