Military operation against militants starts in Rajouri, say officials

Rajouri: A military operation against militants has started in Thanamandi area of Rajouri district on Thursday morning, officials said.

An official said that the operation started this morning after a cordon and search operation by a joint team of armed forces was launched following reports of suspicious movement in Karyote Kalas area.

He said that militants fired upon the armed forces personnel triggering the operation. The intermittent exchange of gunfire was going on when this report was filed.
