Srinagar: Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday called for the release of Kashmiri students arrested in Agra over their celebration of Pakistan’s victory over India in the ongoing T-20 worldc cup.
The PDP president called the act as reprehensible. Taking to her Twitter handle she said, “Crackdown on Kashmiri students both within J&K & outside is reprehensible. Situation in J&K after two years of suppression should’ve been an eye opener for GOI & lead to course correction.BJPs pseudo patriotism disregards the idea of India. Release these students immediately.”
The former chief minister of Jammu and Kashmir was commenting on the news item regarding the arrest of three Kashmiri students in UP’s Agra.
The students were charged under sedition and cyber terrorism following their arrests.
