SSC MTS Exam is a nationalized exam conducted for the appointment of suitable candidates for General Group-C Central Service non-ministerial and non-gazetted posts. The shortlisted candidates get appointed for various departments, ministries, and offices of the Government of India. SSC MTS recruitment drive is arranged by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for different posts. Candidates selected, based on their eligibility, get appointed as Peon, Gardner, Daftary, Jamadar, Junior Gestetner Operator, Chowkidar, Safaiwala, etc.

According to the latest SSC calendar, the SSC MTS Paper-1 exam is scheduled from October 5th to November 12th, 2021. SSC MTS Age Limit

Candidates applying for the SSC MTS exam must be aged between 18 to 25 years as of August 1, 2021. However, there is certain age limit relaxation given to physically handicapped, SC/ST, and OBC category candidates. In terms of educational qualification, candidates applying must have passed matriculation or equivalent examination from a recognized board as of August 1, 2021.

SSC MTS Exam Pattern 2021: Highlights

SSC MTS consists of two papers including Paper 1 and Paper 2. Paper 1 consists of MCQs while Paper 2 is descriptive in nature. The time limit given to complete paper 1 is 90 minutes while for Descriptive Paper, the time limit is 30 minutes. Paper 1 will an online exam while Paper 2 will be taken offline.

A total of 100 questions are asked in paper 1; each question holding a weightage of 1 mark each. Candidates’ ¼ marks will be deducted for every wrong answer. Paper 2 is qualifying in nature and is designed to check the candidates’ elementary skills. The maximum weightage of this paper is 50. 

Candidates qualifying for paper 1 will be considered eligible for Paper 2.

​SSC MTS Syllabus

SSC decides MTS syllabus, the exam syllabus consists of two papers- Paper 1 & Paper 2. Sections asked in SSC MTS Paper 1 include General Intelligence & Reasoning, Numerical Aptitude, General English, and General Awareness while the candidates have to write a Short Essay/Letter in the English Language in SSC MTS Paper 2.

A few of the SSC MTS General Intelligence and Reasoning topics include Number & Alphabetical Series, Coding-Decoding, Analogy, Odd one Out, Syllogism, Directions Sense, Ranking, etc. that candidates need to study to get a good score.

SSC MTS Salary

SSC MTS is a Group C non-gazetted, general Central Government service. The candidates get appointed for non-ministerial posts having pay band 1(5200 – 20200) + the Grade Pay of 1800 rupees.  The salary obtained by SSC MTS candidates is revised after the 7th Pay Commission application. Presently, the cash-in salary of SSC MTS personnel varies from INR 18,000 to 22,000 per month.
