Srinagar: National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah on Saturday said that the killing of two policemen in Bandipora is a “sad story” and takes the lid off the normalcy claims of the government of India.

Abdullah also said that the Government of India must talk to Pakistan so that the conflict in Kashmir ends.

“Are we happy over the killings of two policemen, It’s a sad story,” the NC chief told reporters in Jammu on the sidelines of party function.

“When policemen aren’t safe, how is an ordinary man safe in Kashmir? Government of India states, everything is alright and hunky-dory in Kashmir, is this what they claim,” he asked.

Asked how the Government of India can talk to Pakistan when policemen are getting killed in Kashmir by foreign militants as claimed by the police chief of Kashmir, Abdullah said: “You have to talk to Pakistan, there is no other way.”

“You can talk to China, why not Pakistan. The Chinese are occupying our territory and making houses on our territory,” he said.

He said why the government of India isn’t allowing debate on Chinese acts in the Parliament.

“I don’t know why GoI is allowing us to know what Chinese are doing to our land,” he said.
