3 militants killed, 4 armed forces personnel injured in Srinagar military Op: Police

Srinagar: Three militants were killed and four armed forces personnel injured in an overnight military operation in Pantha Chowk area of Srinagar, police said on Friday.

Police officials said that three unidentified militants have been killed in the operation and their identification is being ascertained.

Four armed forces personnel including three personnel of Jammu and Kashmir police and another belonging to Central Reserve Police Force were injured.

According to police, the operation started on Thursday night around 12: 20 am, and four armed forces personnel were injured in the initial exchange of fire.

Police later said that three unidentified militants were killed in the operation and their identification is being ascertained.

One of the slain militants killed in the operation has been identified as Suhail Rather of Jaish-e-Mohammed outfit, Inspector General of Police Kashmir said.

He added that Suhail was involved in the militant attack in Zewan area of Srinagar.
