COVID: JK reports five deaths, 4,354 infections in last 24 hours

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported decline in COVID cases for the third day in a row with 4,354 fresh infections confirmed in the last 24 hours while as five persons succumbed to the virus during the time, officials said on Friday.

They said, 1,440 of the cases were confirmed from Jammu and 2,914 from Kashmir Valley, taking the overall tally to 4,24,085.

Giving district wise, the officials said that Srinagar 916, Baramulla 290, Budgam 229, Pulwama 90, Kupwara 618, Anantnag 329, Bandipora 109, Ganderbal 42, Kulgam 262, Shopian 29, Jammu 763, Udhampur 111, Rajouri 43, Doda 103, Kathua 68, Samba 104, Kishtwar 30, Poonch 91, Ramban 106 and Reasi 21.

Regarding the deaths, they said, three were confirmed from Jammu and two from Kashmir Valley, taking the total fatality count to 4,647. 2,268 of the deaths were reported in Jammu division and 2,379 in Kashmir.

Besides, they said, 5,850 COVID patients recovered during the time—1,918 from Jammu and 3,932 from Kashmir. So far, 3,74,282 people have recovered, leaving the active case tally at 45,156—11,110 in Jammu and 34,046 in Kashmir.
