Srinagar: Two armed forces personnel were on Monday afternoon injured after being shot by unidentified gunmen in Maisuma area of Srinagar, officials said.

Official sources said that two personnel of Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) were fired upon by the unidentified gunmen in Maisuma near Dar building.

The injured have been shifted to the hospital for treatment, they said, adding that searches have been launched in the area.

Earlier in the day, two

two non-locals were injured after being attacked by unidentified gunmen in Lajurah area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

An official said that militants fired upon two non-local labourers in Lajurah Pulwama, who have been shifted to hospital for treatment.

He identified the duo as Patlashwar Kumar, son of Joko Chowdary of Bihar who has a right arm injury and Joko Chowdary, son of Thaugh Chowdary of Bihar, who has injuries in his right arm and right leg.

Pertinently, on Sunday evening, militants fired upon two non-local labourers at Nowpora, Pulwama, leaving them seriously injured.

The wounded labourers were rushed to a nearby hospital for treatment. They were later identified as Surinder, son of Bishan Singh from Pathankot and Deeraj Dat, son of Susheel Dat of Pathankot.
