Military operation against militants starts in south Kashmir
Shopian: A military operation against militants has started in Badigam village of south Kashmir’s Shopian, police said.
Officials said that a joint team of Police, Army, and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.
He said that as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, militants fired upon them triggering the operation.
A police officer also confirmed the exchange of gunfire between militants and armed forces.
