Hizb militant active since 2017 arrested in south Kashmir

Kokarnag: A Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant active since 2017 was arrested during a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) in Kokernag area of Anantnag on Thursday.

An official said that on specific input about the presence of militants, a joint team of forces launched CASO in Tengpawa-Sagam area of Kokernag on Thursday.

He said that during the search operation one militant was apprehended tactfully who has been identified as Mohammad Ishaq Shergojri son of Abdul Ahad Shergojri resident of Nowgam, Verinag who was active since September 15, 2017, and was associated with Hizb-ul-Mujahideen.

He said further investigation into the matter is on.
