IED recovered in south Kashmir, 2 militant associates arrested: Police

Pulwama: Police on Thursday said that a 15-kilogram improvised explosive device was recovered in Armullah Litter area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.

Two militant associates have been also arrested, police said in a tweet.

“Police and SFs averted a major tragedy by recovering 15Kg IED planted by (militants) in village Armullah, Litter,” Kashmir Zone Police tweeted quoting IGP.

“Two associates involved in the incident have been arrested. Case registered. Investigation on,” the tweet added.

Earlier, the IED was detected on the roadside following which a bomb disposal squad was rushed to the area.
