‘Militancy case’: NIA raids multiple locations in Kashmir, say officials

Srinagar: National Investigation Agency (NIA) is carrying out raids at multiple locations in Srinagar, including the premises of SKIMS Soura, officials sources said on Wednesday.

They said that NIA sleuths with the assistance of police and CRPF are carrying out raids in connection with a case ‘related to militancy’.

In Srinagar raids were conducted in the residences of Nazir Ahmad son of Mohammad Ramzan (vegetable seller) at Habba-Kadal and Shah Faisal son of Khursheed Ahmad Shah, a resident of Sutrashahi. Both were brought to Shaheed Junj police station by the NIA team, sources said.

Another team of NIA along with police raided Nephrology ward no 4 of SKIMS Soura and apprehended one person identified as Irshad Ahmad Elahie (24) son of Farooq Ahmad, a resident of Redwani Payeen of South Kashmir’s Kulgam.

Similarly, raids were conducted in other parts of Kashmir. (KDC)
