Military operation against militants starts in Shopian, says police

Shopian: A military operation against militants has started in Shermal area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district on Saturday.

Police officials said that a joint team of Police, Army and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation in Shermal following inputs about the presence of militants in the area.

A senior police officer also confirmed an exchange of firing between militants and armed forces.
