Military operation against militants underway in Kulgam, says police

Kulgam: A military operation against militants is underway in Redwani area of Kulgam district on Friday, police said on Friday.

Kashmir zone police informed that the operation broke out in Redwani village of the district Kulgam. Police said that a joint team of armed forces including the army and police is on job, while further details will be shared accordingly.

“Encounter has started at Redwani area of Kulgam. Police and security forces are on the job. Further details shall follow,” police tweeted.

The operation was launched after the joint team received input about the presence of militants in the area. So far, an army personnel has received injuries during the operation and no militant has been killed yet.
