Delhi: Senior BJP leader Subramanian Swamy lashed out at Narendra Modi, accusing the latter of ‘betraying’ India’s national interests by attending the SCO meeting in Uzbekistan.

He said the Chinese map shown during the event shows Ladakh as part of China, and Russia has adopted the names on their map.

Modi attended the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) meeting in Uzbekistan, last month and met Chinese premier Xi Jinping.

“Modi betrayed India’s national interest by going to SCO meet despite Xi Jinping distributing Chinese map at the event showing Ladakh and Arunachal Pradesh as part of China…and with Chinese names in the “official” atlas! Final kick to India: Russia has adopted Chinese names in their map!” Subramanian Swamy tweeted.

In a follow-up remark, he also said that India should “be ready to wage war in all feasible dimensions” in connection with the ongoing border conflict.

“On Twitter, I am asked what proof I have for China’s map. It was distributed to all in the SCO meet by Xi. Even Modi got a copy. Did Modi protest? Ask him. In fact, many tweeted it then but it was not noticed. Better late than never,” he added in another post.

He added, “Modi owes an apology to the Nation for President Xi of China insult after 18 one to one talks with Modi, has taunted Bharat Mata by reminding world their claimed victory in Galwan. Yes after our jawans gallantry in 2020, we gifted Galwan to China by pulling out—koi aaya nahin…”

Earlier this month, the Ministry of External Affairs had said that the situation in eastern Ladakh was yet to return to normalcy.

The remarks came mere days after Chinese envoy Sun Weidong claimed that the situation in eastern Ladakh is “overall stable” as the two sides have moved from the “emergency response” that followed the Galwan valley clashes in June 2020 to “normalised” management.
