Four Bajrang Dal workers held for making derogatory remarks against Prophet Muhammad

Indore: Four Bajrang Dal workers were arrested by police in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, a day after the Hindu-right wing gang made derogatory remarks against the Prophet Muhammad-PBUH in front of a movie theatre.

The Bajrang Dal men were demonstrating against Shah Rukh Khan’s latest film, Pathaan.

Harinarayanachari Mishra, the police commissioner of Indore, said in a statement to the media, “We are keeping a watch on bogus news that disrespects any religion. Strict action will be taken against anyone posting such news in an effort to disturb the peace”.

A case under sections 295(A) (Deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings of any class by insulting its religion or religious beliefs), 153(A) (Promoting enmity between different groups on grounds of religion, race, place of birth, residence), 505 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and 34 (Acts done by several persons in furtherance of common intention) of the Indian Penal Code has been registered.
