Gaza genocide: Over 18,000 Palestinians killed so far, says health ministry

The Ministry of Health in Gaza has officially declared that the Palestinian death toll in the Gaza Strip has exceeded 18,000 since October 7, as Israel continues bombardment on Palestinians.

In a press conference held on Monday, Ministry spokesperson Ashraf al-Qedra conveyed that, within the last 24 hours alone, 208 deceased Palestinians were transported to hospitals in the Gaza Strip.

Additionally, 416 Palestinians sustained injuries during the Israeli raids, as reported by the Xinhua news agency.

Al-Qedra, providing a comprehensive overview of the situation, emphasised at the cumulative impact of the conflict has resulted in a staggering toll.

As of Monday, the total count of casualties stands at 18,205 Palestinians killed and 49,645 others wounded.

The gravity of these figures underscores the profound human cost borne by the people in the region.

In an urgent plea to the international community, Al-Qedra called upon medical teams from around the world to lend their support in the Gaza Strip.

He specifically urged them to contribute to life-saving operations for the wounded, highlighting the critical need for immediate intervention

Moreover, he drew attention to the plight of hundreds of injured individuals who are awaiting the opportunity to leave Gaza in order to receive essential medical treatment.

The dire circumstances in Gaza demand swift and concerted efforts to alleviate the suffering of the affected population, as the conflict continues to take a devastating toll on human lives and well-being.
