Woman steals jewellery from sister’s home in Ganderbal; arrested in Srinagar
Ganderbal: A woman from central Kashmir’s Ganderbal was arrested for stealing gold ornaments from her sister’s home on Friday.
“Cops swiftly resolved a burglary case involving the theft of gold ornaments from a residence in Tawheed Chowk, Ganderbal. Kaiser Ahmad Waza reported that his sister-in-law, visiting as a guest, stole the ornaments from his room’s locker,” police said
Police registered a case under FIR 64/2024 at police station Ganderbal and initiated an investigation. A police team apprehended the suspect at Harisingh High Street, Srinagar. The accused confessed to the crime, admitting to selling the stolen ornaments for cash.
Police recovered Rs 1,85,500 in cash and a scooty from the accused. The woman was arrested and is now in custody.
