8 Palestinians killed in Israeli airstrikes targeting various areas in Gaza Strip
At least eight Palestinians were killed and several others injured on Friday during Israeli airstrikes on the Nuseirat, Al-Maghazi, and Jabalia refugee camps, as well as the cities of Khan Younis and Rafah in the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian news agency Wafa reported that three civilians died and others were injured when an Israeli airstrike targeted a house west of Nuseirat camp in central Gaza.
Two additional Palestinians lost their lives in a similar attack on homes in the Al-Maghazi camp, also in central Gaza.
Quoting sources, Anadolu Agency reported that an Israeli airstrike on a house in Block 4 of the Jabalia camp in northern Gaza resulted in the deaths of three Palestinians and injuries to several others.
In a separate incident, several Palestinians were killed and wounded when the Israeli military struck a tent sheltering displaced individuals in the Shawafin area, east of Khan Younis in southern Gaza.
The bombardment continued in Rafah, where Israeli forces demolished homes and residential blocks.
Since an October 7, 2023, Hamas attack, Israel has been conducting a military offensive in Gaza despite a UN Security Council resolution calling for an immediate cease-fire.
According to local health authorities, nearly 39,700 Palestinians, mostly women and children, have been killed, and over 91,700 injured during the conflict.
Over 10 months into the war, Gaza remains devastated under a severe blockade restricting access to food, clean water, and medicine.
Israel faces accusations of genocide at the International Court of Justice, which has ordered an immediate halt to its military operations in Rafah, where over 1 million Palestinians had sought refuge before the city was invaded on May 6.
