Reasi’s Gulabgarh records highest voter turnout at 35.72% till 11am in II phase of JK polls
Srinagar: As of 11am, the second phase of the Jammu and Kashmir assembly elections 2024 has recorded an overall voter turnout of 24.10%. Beerwah has seen a relatively higher turnout with 26.62%, while Budgam trails behind with 21.78%.
The ST-reserved constituency of Budhal has observed a turnout of 31.62%. In Central Shalteng, the voter percentage stands at 12.27%, with Chadoora following at 24.16%. Channapora has seen a lower participation rate at 11.48%, but Chrar-i-Shareif reported 28.85%.
In Srinagar, Eidgah has recorded 15.70%, while Ganderbal registered a turnout of 24.91%. The ST constituency of Gulabgarh has seen one of the highest turnouts at 35.72%, while Habbakadal has witnessed the lowest voter turnout so far, with just 7.40%. Hazratbal reported 12.80% turnout, and Kalakote-Sunderbani has recorded 30.74%. In Kangan (ST), voter participation stands at 30.94%, while Khansahib has seen 27.00%.
Khanyar recorded 10.79%, and Lal Chowk saw 11.39% of voters coming out to vote. In Mendhar (ST), 30.90% of voters have cast their votes so far. Nowshera registered a turnout of 21.42%, while Poonch Haveli saw a strong voter turnout at 34.26%. Rajouri (ST) reported 33.77%, with Reasi seeing 32.31%. The Shri Mata Vaishno Devi constituency has recorded a turnout of 31.08%, and Surankote (ST) 33.79%. Thannamandi (ST) recorded 31.61% voter turnout, while Zadibal registered a low 12.52%.
The elections have seen varied turnout rates across constituencies, with ST-reserved areas generally observing higher participation. Polling is expected to continue throughout the day under tight security, ensuring a fair and peaceful election process.
