Satellite imagery shows apparent damage at a key Israeli military air base following an Iranian missile strike.

The images of Nevatim air base in southern Israel reveal a large hole in the roof of an aircraft hangar, with debris scattered around nearby buildings close to a runway.

The cause of the damage remains unclear, and Israel’s military has not commented on the images. Nevatim is home to the Israeli Air Force’s most advanced aircraft, including U.S.-made F-35 Lightning II stealth jets.

On Wednesday, the Israeli military acknowledged that some airbases were struck in the Iranian attack, though the damage was described as “ineffective,” causing no disruption to air force operations.

The missiles reportedly damaged office buildings and maintenance areas, but no fighter jets, drones, munitions, or critical infrastructure were harmed.
