Manipur: Arms, ammo and explosives seized during search Ops in Kakching and Thoubal districts
Imphal: Armed forces seized a large cache of arms, ammunition, and explosives during search operations in the Kakching and Thoubal districts of Manipur, according to a police statement released on Monday.
On October 5, while conducting area domination and search operations in the Wabagai Natekhong Turenmei area of Kakching district, the forces recovered three carbines with magazines, an air gun rifle, a 9 mm pistol, two single-barrel guns, 14 grenades without detonators, a 51 mm mortar, two MK-III grenades, and a suspected explosive IED container weighing 4.755 kg, the statement revealed.
In a separate operation on Saturday in the Chingkham Ching area of Thoubal district, armed forces personnel seized an SMG carbine with a magazine, a .32 pistol, one 81 mm mortar shell, four hand grenades, three detonators, 45 live rounds, five green grenades, seven tear smoke grenades, 11 tear smoke shells, and two standard stun shells.
