Gold, cash, and culprits: Burglary case solved in Sopore

Sopore: Police in Sopore have cracked a burglary case with the arrest of two accused and recovery of stolen property, including jewellery and cash.

The case came to light when Ashiq Hussain Shah, a resident of Brandub Rafiabad, lodged a complaint at Police Station Panzalla.

He reported that during the night of December 9-10, unknown burglars broke into his home and stole household items, jewellery, and Rs 20,000 in cash. Based on his complaint, an FIR (No. 53/2024) was registered, and an investigation was launched.

The investigating team, using extensive efforts and resources, identified and apprehended two suspects — Zakir Hussain Shah, son of Khadim Shah, and Manzoor Ahmad Shah, son of Munawar Ahmad Shah — both residents of Brandub Rafiabad. During questioning, the duo confessed to the crime.

Following their disclosure, police recovered stolen items, including a gold ring, a pair of golden earrings, a golden nose pin, and Rs 20,000 in cash.
