Srinagar records minus 7.3°C as freezing temperatures grip Kashmir

Srinagar: The minimum temperatures across the Kashmir, Jammu, and Ladakh regions have dropped, with several areas experiencing freezing conditions.

Srinagar recorded -7.3°C, while Qazigund experienced -6.6°C. In other parts of Kashmir, Kupwara saw -6.4°C, Kokernag recorded -5.4°C, and Sonamarg had -7.5°C. Bandipora and Baramulla were at -7.2°C and -6.1°C, respectively, while Anantnag and Pulwama recorded -9.0°C and -9.1°C. Shopian also saw a low of -9.1°C.

In Jammu, the temperatures were relatively warmer, with Jammu city at 7.1°C. Banihal and Batote had temperatures of -1.3°C and 0.7°C, while Katra recorded 6.7°C. The coldest area in Jammu was Padder, with a temperature of -9.5°C. Other areas, including Poonch and Rajouri, recorded temperatures of 2.9°C and 2.2°C, respectively.

In Ladakh, Leh recorded a temperature of -12.6°C, while Kargil saw -12.0°C. temperatures in Drass were unavailable.
