Kerala: Two journalists from a Malayalam news channel, Report TV, were charged under the POCSO Act for alleged sexist remarks and double-meaning comments directed at a girl participating in a youth festival in Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.

The Thiruvananthapuram police filed the case against consulting editor Arun Kumar and reporter Shahabas under Sections 11 and 12 of the Act, following a complaint from the state children’s welfare committee.

The controversy arose during the telecast of the event, where Shahabas was seen making inappropriate gestures toward a schoolgirl. In a related segment, Arun Kumar allegedly made remarks with double meanings about the same participant. The incident sparked outrage after clips circulated widely on social media.
