Gulmarg to host Khelo India Winter Games from March 9-12
Srinagar: Gulmarg is set to host the second leg of the 5th Khelo India Winter Games from March 9 to 12 after the event was postponed earlier due to inadequate snowfall, officials said on Monday.
With fresh snow covering the slopes, the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council has announced that all necessary arrangements have been finalised to ensure a smooth event for athletes and visitors.
Over 300 athletes from across the country will compete in various winter sports, including alpine skiing, Nordic skiing, ski mountaineering, and snowboarding.
“Athletes and sports enthusiasts from all over India will participate, and Gulmarg will once again showcase its potential as a premier winter sports destination,” an official said.
The Khelo India Winter Games aim to promote winter sports culture in the region while giving young talent a platform to compete at the national level.
