Property of three militants seized in Poonch, says police

Jammu: Police on Sunday seized four properties spanning 14.8 Kanal of land, valued at approximately Rs 28 lakhs, in villages Qasba and Kirni of district Poonch.

In a statement, the police said that these properties belonged to three local militants operating from Pakistan, they are Najab Din, son of Mohamda, resident of Village Kirni, Tehsil Haveli; Mohd Latif, son of Mohamda, a resident of Village Kirni, Tehsil Haveli; Mohd Bashir alias Tikka Khan, son of Bahadur Ali, a resident of Village Qasba, Tehsil Haveli.

“All three had earlier fled to Pakistan-administered Kashmir and are actively engaged in promoting militancy, disturbing peace, and threatening social harmony in Poonch and other parts of Jammu and Kashmir,” the police said.

The action was taken in compliance with the Hon’ble Court’s order under sections 82/83 of CrPC, related to FIR 202/2022 registered at police station Poonch.

The attachment proceedings were carried out by a police team and Naib-Tehsildar Poonch, along with revenue officials. The execution of this action was witnessed by local residents of villages Qasba and Kirni, he said.

SSP Poonch Shafket Hussain JKPS stated that Poonch police remain steadfast in their resolve to root out militancy and ensure peace and stability in the region, reads the statement.
