Kashmiri youth rescue tourist family after shikara capsizes in Dal Lake; BJP’s Ravinder Raina praises action
Srinagar: A group of young Kashmiri men rescued a tourist family after their shikara capsized in Dal Lake due to strong winds. The incident, which occurred during peak tourist season in Srinagar, was captured on video and widely circulated online.
The short clip, less than a minute long, shows a shikara overturning in the lake as gusty winds lash the area. Several Kashmiri men can be seen rushing to the spot in nearby shikaras to help the stranded tourists. Behind the camera, a can be heard saying: “All of them have been rescued.”
The video was shared by BJP national executive member and former Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh BJP president, Ravinder Raina, who praised the immediate action. “Well done boys, proud of you,” he wrote on X, using the hashtag #Kashmiri_Boys.
