Maybe terrorists from Pahalgam have joined BJP, that’s why they are not being caught: Sanjay Raut
Mumbai: Shiv Sena (UBT) leader and Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Raut has launched a sharp attack on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging in a sarcastic tone that the terrorists involved in the April 22 Pahalgam attack might have joined the ruling party, which is why they haven’t been apprehended yet.
Speaking to reporters in Mumbai, Raut questioned the delay in nabbing the six responsible for the attack that claimed the lives of 26 civilians in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pahalgam region.
“Perhaps the terrorists have joined the BJP—that’s why they’re still at large. One day, you might even receive a press release from the BJP office announcing that these six have become members of the party. So just forget about justice,” Raut said mockingly.
In response, BJP leader Ram Kadam strongly condemned Raut’s remarks, calling them “utterly ridiculous” and disrespectful to the country’s armed forces.
Speaking to a news channel, Kadam said, “Leaders like Uddhav Thackeray and Sanjay Raut have lost their mental balance. They should be sent to a mental hospital.”
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Nirupam distanced himself from Raut’s statement, saying such comments are part of his routine and lack seriousness. He added that the Uddhav-led faction has long desired to align with the BJP, but the latter has shown no interest. “These statements are born out of frustration,” Nirupam said.
