China warns of ‘grave consequences’ after Israel attacks Iran

In response to media inquiries regarding Israel’s airstrikes on multiple targets inside Iran early Friday morning, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian expressed serious concern and warned of the potentially grave consequences of the escalation.

Lin said China is deeply worried about the sharp rise in tensions following Israel’s actions and firmly opposes any violations of Iran’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity. He stressed that unilateral actions that increase tensions or expand the scope of conflict run counter to the interests of all parties involved.

“The renewed and sharp escalation of the regional situation is not in anyone’s interest,” Lin stated.

He urged all relevant parties to exercise restraint, avoid further provocation, and work toward reducing tensions. Lin reiterated China’s consistent position in support of peace and regional stability.

“China calls on all parties to do more to promote regional peace and stability and to prevent the situation from deteriorating further,” he said, adding that China stands ready to play a constructive role in de-escalating the crisis and restoring calm in the region.
