JK Govt allows CRPF to use Lethpora firing range for 10 years
Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir government has approved the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) to carry out routine field firing exercises at the 100-Metre Baffle Firing Range, situated at the CRPF Group Centre in Lethpora (RTC Srinagar), Pulwama district. This permission will remain valid for a duration of ten years.
The clearance has been granted in accordance with sub-section (2) of Section 9 of the Manoeuvres, Field Firing and Artillery Practice Act, 1938. The CRPF is authorised to use the already designated range as previously notified.
As per the official notification, the approval is valid for ten years from the date it was issued, with the condition that all rules outlined in the 1938 Act are strictly followed.
