New Delhi: One of the most major disclosures during the Parliament’s special discussion on Operation Sindoor came from Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, who revealed that India’s S-400 air defence systems were successfully used to intercept Pakistani missile strikes following the Pahalgam terror attack.

“Pakistan tried to retaliate. They targeted our military and civilian infrastructure, but thanks to our layered air defence systems, including the S-400, not a single target was hit,” Singh told the Lok Sabha.

He added that India was “prepared for all eventualities” and had anticipated both aerial and ground-level provocations from across the border. “Our response was ready. Not only did we neutralise threats, but our forces stayed combat-ready in the days that followed.”

Singh assured the House that “no important military asset, no civilian target, and no strategic facility suffered any damage.” He described the S-400 system, procured from Russia, as a “game-changer in modern defence architecture.”

This confirmation adds to the layered narrative of Operation Sindoor—not just as a retaliatory strike but as a defensive shield that protected Indian lives and infrastructure from further harm.
