Four Kashmiri men arrested with heroin in Udhampur, says police

Jammu: Police on Wednesday said that they have apprehended four persons along with heroin in Udhampur district.

In a handout, the police said that a police team from police post Tikri led by its ICPP while performing routine vehicle checking at Tikri naka point, NHW recovered 71.95 grams of heroin (Chitta) like substance from four narco smugglers who were travelling in a vehicle bearing registration no JK15C-2964, which was on its way from Jammu towards Srinagar, who have been arrested.

The police spokesman identified the arrested persons as Mohd Younis Malla, son of Mohd Yaqoob Malla, a resident of Shilvat, Bandipora; driver, Wahid Maqbool, son of Mohd Maqbool Mir, a resident of Sumbal, Bandipora; Qaiser Ahmed Ganie, son of Nisar Ahmed, a resident of Arampora Sumbal, Bandipora and Ahmed Ganie, son of Ghulam Nabi Mir, a resident of Shilvat Sumbal, Bandipora.

In this connection, a case FIR 117/2025 under sections 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act stands registered at police station Rehambal and further investigation is going on, reads the statement. (GNS)
