Kashmir police to deploy multi-layered security for August 15, says IGP VK Birdi

Srinagar: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Kashmir Zone, VK Birdi, on Monday said that all necessary security and logistical arrangements have been put in place to ensure smooth and peaceful August 15 event across the Valley.

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a rehearsal parade at Partap Park Srinagar, Birdi said that drill rehearsals are underway as part of the preparations. He added that multiple layers of security will be deployed, with special focus on sensitive locations to guarantee a peaceful event.

The Jammu and Kashmir Police, in coordination with paramilitary forces, are working to implement comprehensive, multi-tiered security measures to maintain order throughout the event.

Birdi assured that every effort is being made to ensure the August 15 festivities proceed smoothly and without any incidents.
