Bus en route to Vaishno Devi meets accident; 1 killed, 35 injured
Jammu: At least one pilgrim was killed while thirty five others were injured after the bus they were travelling in met with an accident at Jatla area of Samba district on Thursday. All the victims are residents of Uttar Pradesh.
The bus bearing registration number UP81BT was carrying pilgrims of Mata Vaishno Devi shrine and met with an accident near Jatla area, an official said.
In this incident, one pilgrim was killed and thirty five others were injured. All the injured have been shifted to nearby hospital for treatment, where from six were shifted to AIIMS.
The deceased has been identified as Kripal alias Iqbal, 31, son of Harban, a resident of Rukhalu.
The injured have been identified as Phool Kumar, son of Narine Singh; Om Kala, wife of Umesh; Ram Singh, son of Harpul Singh; Bala, wife of Rum Singh; Kajal, daughter of Dal Chan; Rakesh Kumar, son of Khema; Pushpa, daughter of Khema; Ompal, son of Chander Singh; Mavasi, son of Birja; Nambir, son of Roshan; Jaipal, son of Yadram; Sobram, son of Yashpaul Singh; Reena, wife of Mukesh; Suraj, son of Mukesh; Mukesh, son of Ramesh; Arti, daughter of Sheeshpal; Ramvati, wife of Satpal; Rinku, son of Satpal; Uadal Singh, son of Devi Sahay; Nirmal, wife of Rinku; Ashok, son of Nathu Singh; Kaushal, wife of Ashok; Dushant Singh, son of Rum Singh; Aimpushpinder, son of Ramesh; Bhagwan Say, son of Jai Ram; Khoof Chand, son of Rampal; Gajraj, son of Harwan Say; Vijender, son of Bhagwan Say; Rajinder, son of Om Prakash, driver, a resident of Khurja, Bulandshahr; Poonam, wife of Dev Raj; Shivam, son of Mukesh; and Om Vati, all are residents of Amroha, UP, except Rajinder.
Meanwhile, police have taken cognisance of the incident. (GNS)
