CM expresses grief, prays for speedy recovery of injured in Samba bus accident
Srinagar: Chief Minister Omar Abdullah on Thursday expressed grief over the tragic bus accident in Samba district carrying Mata Vaishno Devi pilgrims, which claimed one life and left thirty-five others injured. He prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and assured all possible assistance.
At least one pilgrim was killed while thirty-five others were injured when the bus they were travelling in met with an accident near Jatla area on Thursday. All the victims, except one, are residents of Amroha district in Uttar Pradesh.
The bus, bearing registration number UP81BT, was carrying pilgrims to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine when it skidded off the road, officials said. All the injured were initially shifted to a nearby hospital, from where six critically injured were later referred to AIIMS for treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Kripal alias Iqbal, 31, son of Harban, resident of Rukhalu.
