Chief education officer Baramulla attached over social media order
Baramulla: The Jammu and Kashmir Government has attached Bashir Ahmad Shah, in-charge Chief Education Officer (CEO) of Baramulla, to the office of the Directorate of School Education Kashmir, pending an inquiry.
An official order from the School Education Department stated that the Chief Education Officer, Bandipora, will hold additional charge of the Baramulla CEO post as well as the principal, DIET Sopore, until further orders. The Joint Director Education (North), Kashmir, has been asked to conduct an inquiry and submit a report to the Administrative Department within 15 days.
The move comes after Bashir Ahmad Shah issued a circular warning government employees to adhere to social media guidelines, follow legal principles, and avoid engaging in unwarranted debates or sharing inappropriate content online. The government cited earlier circulars issued in 2017 and 2023 as the basis for these instructions.
The attachment order has been issued under the directions of School Education Minister Sakina Ittoo.
