House worth ₹73 lakh seized under NDPS Act in south Kashmir
Awantipora: Awantipora Police have attached property worth lakhs belonging to a notorious drug peddler in Larkipora area of south Kashmir’s Pulwama district.
Officials said that a double-storey residential house valued at approximately ₹73 lakh, owned by Fareeda Akhter, daughter of Ghulam Rasool Shah of Larkipora, was attached under Section 68-F of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985.
Investigations revealed that the property had been illegally acquired through proceeds of narcotics trafficking.
Police sources confirmed that Fareeda Akhter has been named in multiple FIRs related to the illegal trade of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances.
Authorities described the property attachment as part of the ongoing campaign to dismantle the financial networks of drug peddlers in the region.
“The operation reflects the unwavering commitment of Awantipora Police to curb the drug menace and bring offenders to justice,” an official said.
