‘Slaughterhouse’: Freed Palestinian prisoners allege torture in Israeli jails
Palestinians recently released from Israeli prisons under the captives exchange deal have accused Israeli authorities of torture and abuse.
One former detainee described conditions at Ofer Prison as a ‘slaughterhouse,’ alleging beatings and humiliation, AL Jazeera reported.
As part of the deal, Israel freed nearly 2,000 Palestinian prisoners and detainees, including 154 who were exiled to Egypt.
In return, Hamas released all 20 surviving Israeli captives held in Gaza and the bodies of four others.
