Ladakh Lieutenant Governor’s residence renamed ‘Lok Niwas’

Ladakh: Raj Niwas — the official residence and office of the Lieutenant Governor of Ladakh— has been renamed Lok Niwas.

Announcing the change on November 30, the Office of the Lt. Governor said on X that the new name reflects a commitment to people-centric governance and inclusive development. The post also featured a photograph of Lt Governor Kavinder Gupta standing beside the newly installed nameplate at the main entrance.

Officials said the renaming signals the administration’s push for stronger citizen engagement and more accessible governance.

They added that the title Lok Niwas highlights Gupta’s emphasis on transparency, accountability and development that aligns with public aspirations across Ladakh.
