Srinagar: Flight operations to and from Srinagar International Airport resumed on Wednesday after a one-day shutdown caused by heavy snowfall and unsafe runway conditions, officials said.

Airport authorities said the runway, taxiways and apron were cleared of snow following persistent snowfall on Tuesday that forced cancellation of all flights and left hundreds of passengers, including tourists, stranded.

On Tuesday, up to 58 flights — both inbound and outbound — were cancelled due to snow accumulation and poor visibility, with airlines advising travellers to monitor their flight status with carriers before departure.

Officials said normal aircraft movement could continue through the day if weather conditions hold, though some delays are expected during early operations as conditions stabilise.
