Transfers, postings ordered in prisons dept of JK; details here

Srinagar: The Jammu and Kashmir Home Department has ordered multiple transfers and postings in the Prisons Department with immediate effect.

As per the government directive, Sheikh Zulfkar Azad, who was serving as Superintendent of Central Jail Srinagar, has been repatriated to his parent organisation, the Jammu and Kashmir Police.

The order also deputes three police officers to the Prisons Department. Ch Iftikhar Ahmed has been appointed Superintendent of District Jail Poonch, Rayaz Iqbal Tantray as Superintendent of District Jail Anantnag, and Aejaz Ahmad Malik as Superintendent of Special Jail Pulwama.

In addition, Saba Shawl has been transferred as Superintendent of Central Jail Srinagar, while Mushtaq Ahmad Malla has been posted as Staff Officer to the DGP, Prisons. Sunil Kumar, a Deputy Superintendent of Police, has been appointed Superintendent of District Jail Kishtwar.

The order was issued by the Principal Secretary, Home Department, under instructions from the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir, officials said.
