Trump signals war may end soon but warns Iran over Hormuz
US President Donald Trump said the war involving Iran could end “very soon,” but warned Tehran it would face overwhelming retaliation if it disrupts oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump said the United States would hit Iran “twenty times harder” if the strategic waterway—through which roughly one-fifth of the world’s oil passes—were blocked.
The warning came as Iran continued attacks across the region. Iranian missiles and drones targeted Israel and US-linked assets in Bahrain, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia and the UAE.
At least one person was killed in Manama and two others in central Israel during the latest strikes.
Meanwhile, Tehran endured heavy bombardment overnight, with reports of at least 40 deaths near Risalat Square.
Israel and Hezbollah also continued trading fire along the Lebanon border, where the death toll from Israeli strikes has climbed to 486 people, according to Lebanese health authorities.
